Dead Frost

A white quarter horse whined as it raced through Redwood forest in the black night. A brownish-orange haired woman on the horse looked back to 4 men on black mares, fear filled her eyes as she bit her lower lip. She looked up ahead, "Yea!" she said and the horse ran faster. An arrow narrowly missed her head and she ducked under a branch. Her blue eyes looked down to the little girl in her arms, fast asleep and unaware of what was going on. When she looked back up, there was a snake on the path. The horse stopped and jumped up to it's hind legs, knocking the woman and the little girl off. They fell in a snow bank and the woman held onto the child as she staggered to her feet then started to run.

She panted as she tried to get away but they soon caught up to her and surrounded her, "Give us the girl and we will let you go!" ordered one of the men. "Never! I will not let you have her!" The woman held the girl protectively. The men drew out their swords, "Last chance..." The woman made a run for it but was surprised when one of the men had gotten off his mare and when she turned, he stabbed her through the gut. Her eyes widen in both pain and shock as she opened her mouth but all that came out was blood. The girl was starting to wake up and looked up to the woman, "Mommy?" she said and flinched when a drop of blood fell from the woman's mouth and onto her nose, "M-mom-my!" The man pulled free his sword, drops of blood flew from it as the woman fell over. The girl crawled from her dead arms and started to weep, saying, "Mommy, wake up mommy." she would say as she shook the woman's shoulder. "Now it's your time." said the man as he raised his sword to cut the girl too.

Suddenly the mans arm was gone, "oh no they've killed a lovely lady Kaishi, Bruden Protect the girl." said a silver haired male to his companions. "My pleasure." the red head said smirking, and began attacking. the other one mearly stared at the silver haired one. "what??" he said he hadn't been listening. the silver one grabbed the girl and held her trying to comfort her.

The man screamed in pain as he fell to the ground, "Kill them!" ordered the man then him and the other 2 went after the redhead. The little girl held onto the white haired man as she cried, "They...k-killed...m-mom-my!" she said through her sobs.

"it's going to be alright sweetie." He said stroking her hair. "Kaishi hurry up im hungry." Bruden said to his fighting friend

The girl cried as the men fought the redhead man.

kaishi laughed insanely as he chopped the men up, "Kaishi hush your scaring the girl!" Otawaa yelled at him.

The girl hind her face as she shook. The men were all dead.

Kaishi smirked, "done! lets go eat!!" Bruden yelled. Otawaa looked horrified, "we can't leave this cute little girl all alone! lets take her with us. " he declaired. "No way in hell am i helping you baby sit a snot nosed little brat." kaishi said

The girl started to cry again, she was upset, scare and lonely.

"it's all right dear, don't listen to big mean Kaishi. I'm Otawaa, could you tell me your name?" he asked

"Ch-chisana...T-tensh-shi..." she sobbed as she hid her face.

Bruden looked over at her eyes wide.

"I w-want mom-my..." she sobbed, starting to become tired.

"i'll take care of her...." Bruden said, he had figured out that she was an angel like him and it was kinda his job to take care of smaller ones. "Bruden taking car e of a child. what the fuck is wrong with the world?" Kaishi said, otawaa quickly covered Chiisana's ears, "Kaishi not in front of the child!" he ordered, "i'm sorry sweetie" he said uncovering her ears. "we can't bring your mommy back but we can giver her a proper funeral

Her eyes watered, they were red and puffy, "Mommy...is dead?" she said sleepily.

Otawaa nodded sadly, "i'm afraid so i'm very sorry dear." he said sotly

Chisana frowned as tears streamed down her face, her eyes barely open.

Otawaa hugged her again and comforted her some more

Chisana hugged Otawaa back, "It's all my fault...."

"why would you say that dear? He asked her.

"They were after me...she died cause of me..." Chisana said as she looked to the dead woman.

Otawaa hugged her, "she died protecting you because she oved you." he said

Chisana slowly closed her eyes as tears fell down her cheeks.

Otawaa stroked her hair

Chisana slowly started to fall asleep, "Good bye...mommy..." she said before she fell fast asleep. There was a moment of silents till in a surpise, the dying woman said, "P-please...k-keep her...s-safe..." she said weakly and in pain as she reached out a hand to Otawaa, "D-d-don't...let her...d..d..." her hand flopped down as she now died. Her eyes turned foggy.
