Fire and Ice

It was a warm summer day in Oylinda. The sun beat down heavy on the land. Rowan decided it was a good enough day to train. He set his pack down near a shaded tree and wiped the sweat from his brow, "Its a warm day..." he said as he started to remove his shirt as to not burn it...again. Rowan took out his katana and walked to the middle of the clearing, he closed his eyes and listened to the sounds of the buzzing sun (u know that sound on a hot day *and it just got hotter [had to say it! lol]*) He then rose his katana and stuck it in the ground, deciding to work on his combination attacks instead. He shot out a fire dragon and an ice dragon, the two twisting around each other. He released them and spun around to kick out mist of heat that would of been eye level then punched out, his fist covered in ice. He would sometimes train for hours till the day was night, even in a summer like this. It was what Rowan enjoyed.

Claudia sat walked around Oylinda boredly, she was here for no reason it just felt like it was the place she needed to be. that's when she saw him, Rowan,.........without his shirt on. her face turned bright red and her ears flattened against her head.

Rowan spun around and shot a mix of fire and ice that flew by Claudia's head, missing it by inches. He blinked, "Miss. Claudia, what are you doing here?" he said as he walked towards her, "And why are you so red?" Rowan, clueless as ever.

Claudia's face burned from her blush, "um.....it's just so hot outside..." she mummbled and gestured to her black clothing

"Maybe you should stand in the shade?" Rowan said as he crossed his arms over his chest, looking down at her. His hand reached over to feel her cheek, "But you don't seem that warm."

"oh. well my skin hardly ever feels warm it's always cold." she said hesitently.

"If you say so." Rowan said with a face as straight as an arrow then gave a sudden smile. Rowan never usually smiles but heard it was good way to make someone else smile.

Claudia blinked in confusion then smiled back "you should show me a real smile one day." she said

Rowan's "smile" faded and he blinked, "What reason would I have to smile for real?" He asked her as he rubbed the back of his head.

she thought for a minute then replied "i don't know "she had never actually thought about it

Rowan chuckled, he found her amusing, "What time is it?" He asked her since being in a different timezome, he didn't know if it was morning or noon.

"its almost noon" she respond her purple hair blowing in the breeze "its almost time to eat "

"I have brought a lunch, would you like to share with me?" Rowan said as he pointed to his pack that sat in the shade.

her face went red again . oh no. it's your lunch." she replied

"Nonsense, there is plenty for both of us." He said, giving a small but true smile this time, "Plus it is much too hot today to be wondering about." He looked up to the sun, shielding his eyes. It was a warm day today, Rowan (being half dragon) was resistant to heat but even he could feel the sun baking down on him.

Claudia was fine with the heat. it never really bothered her. "Are you sure?" she asked

"As sure as the day is bright." Rowan said before walking to his pack and pulled out a small wrapped up package, "Sit." He patted down on the grass.

she blushed and sat down near him.

Rowan opened the package, there were 5 meat sandwiches, 3 apples, and 2 slices of sweet rolls. He picked up a sweet roll and handed it to Claudia, "Are you thirsty?"

"a bit" she said her voice soft and shy

He brought out his water skin and handed it to her as he began to eat one of the sandwiches. Rowan consumes a lot of energy when he trains and so he eats more then humans to regain his lost energy.

Claudia blushed and took the water, quietly

"How is everyone, Miss. Claudia?" Rowan asked her after a long silent moment, the strange smile on his face again. Ants crawled along the grass in search for food.

Claudia's smile faded, "i don't really know, i haven't seen Claire, or Anna, or Master Kyo in so long....." she muttered

Rowan blinked, "What do yo mean? I thought that you were all back home?" He said, blinking confused.
